The actual video needs to flow so I plan on firstly having a close up shot of a hand flicking through a small book then a bigger textbook and finally onto a big folder. I then want a separate fresh shot of the stern and bored/tired looking character looking flat at the camera in shot from shoulders.
I want him to then be on his laptop writing on msn or a instant messaging service to his 'dream girl'. I will make this look realistic by getting a member of my cast to change their name to a sweet girls name and then make it visible for the audience to see a lovey dovey conversation on screen ending in a negative for my character.
After this I think it would be good to cut to the football ground. So I am likely to use the local fields to my house at a pitch where my character can be in shot practising looking out of sorts. I want this to be a brief shot only 4-5 seconds long before cutting by the flow of music to the flowing scene of my character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in conversation.
This will now be filmed back at my house where I will zoom in on the knock of a door. The sequence will then zoom out an be from the view of behind the door as I enter the hallway. I will storm into the living room as the mother figure follows. This will then embark on a conversation with over the shoulder shots from one character to another as the dialogue changes bearing in mind the 180 degree rule.
Dialogue..
Poor Old Chap: argh thats it
Mum : well you know son , try again next week
Poor Old Chap: thats every week, I thought I'd be playing for city by now
Mum: (suprised) well just look at the big players nowadays they didnt all start young.. names average premiership players..
Poor Old Chap : Im gonna go have a shower
Mum: Your just not quite good enough, not yet (looking straight down camera)
I had the idea then that 4/5 other characters then all repeat the last line of speech from 'Mum' to emphasise the situation and to add some light humour.
This will then lead to the final clip of the main character looking down and this will be shown as an 'unhappy face' in a piece of food. Probably something similar to spaghetti hoops or even 'smiley faces' to add a tinge of youth and humour into the final scene. The final scene being integral to the trailer of the movie. That will be a close up before slowing down to put the 'mum' into shot who then shouts at the son before he replies with a witty reply himself to really top off the trailer and leave the audience in humour.
I think this could possibly be..
Mum: *name of character* thats it! dont you ever lock me out again like that again! it even started raining! do you realise, do you realise, its just not funny?! (shouting)
Poor Old Chap: (smirks) alright big man , its baanter. BANTER
That I think could then lead to the title where the music will then run over the credits etc.

Music - Choices?
I want to incorporate a certain amount of music into my video to run over the clips when there isnt any dialogue.
Or in one scene where my character has all the work infront of him along with a laptop and facebook. I want him to have a song on his iTunes playing loudly, preferably a dance or youthful track.
Some songs I have thought about are:
White Blank Page - Mumford and Sons
Possibly could be played all the way through the clip or when my character has piles of work a possible white blank page could relate to the lyrics in the song.
Black and Blue - Miike Snow
I think this song would be an ideal choice when the credits are on and the clip is coming to an end. It would also work as an entrance to my clip.
I Just Called to Say I love you - Stevie Wonder
Perfect choice for any shot involving a mother and son
We Can Work It Out - Stevie Wonder
A positive song, another possible choice for the closing credits when the title of the film is raised.
Alors en Danse - Stromae
This dance track is a catchy outgoing song certainly reflecting youth and what my character intends on being.
Come Together - The Beatles
A Beatles classic will be recognisable by all ages of the audience also could flow nicely through all clips. The literal meaning of the come together lyrics perhaps suggesting a bonding and development could work well along the basic trailer story.
Me and Mandy - Example
A weekend song with links to going out with friends and family life. Another possible choice to have on the laptop/computer scene.

Next Step
I looked today during lesson at the 180 degree rule and look forward to using it accurately in the making of my trailer.
I have concluded on the idea of a trailer by the name of 'Poor Old Chap' which will be shown at the end of my clip as a film almost 'coming soon' and not at the beginning to give it a sense of realism. I want to make sure I choose the correct font and style to show my title. Something that needs to be right and is so important to any video in terms of attracting an audience. My idea today was that I could have Poor Chap and then use a transition to make it Poor Old Chap in a flowing sequence whilst making the Old bit revolve or slowly come into the frame to reflect an 'old' movement.
I want to aim for my clip to be around 1 minute long and want to concentrate on a degree of accuracy rather than trying to include everything into my video. I want the main clips to show a boy struggling with work with exaggerated amounts of work in front of him at a table. I want to create this classic scene by having files and folders everywhere but want to have facebook on in front of him or him just on his phone to reflect some youth and humour into the shot. I want a brief clip of him playing football or practising however this certain scene I believe will involve the shots I know I have to include.
The shot of somebody walking through a door, across a room and engaging in conversation sat down opposite another character. I think that my character whether that's me or somebody else acting will come in speak to a mother figure about his football or lack of ability. Not that he knows that complaining about not being in the team. I also want to try and include some humour and comedy into this particular clip.
My final shot just before the name and credits of the film appearing will be a mother figure shouting for being generally 'a bit rubbish' about work, football and just about losing her son. I want this to be a powerful and funny shot for the audience however I want this to be a negative for the character playing the 'Poor Old Chap' .

First Look
I learned of my task to create a video involving a characters movements through a doorway, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair and then talking in dialogue to another character. This sequence could be part of a trailer or any other type of film providing that the film contained these shots.
My first thought was to make a trailer however the drawbacks could be having to put more thought into the naming of titles and alot more editing to do with sound. However the advantages in terms of learning for the upcoming bigger project creating a real designed and planned trailer etc, this exercise is integral and beneficial to that development.
I believe I will create a video that evolves around one main character , undecided as to who exactly will play that part as casting characters and similar things such as props and music arent things that you can snap and suddenly decide. I will decide these things over time ready for my next double lesson.
However my initial thoughts are having one character that is unlucky, loves the social side of life however isnt quite developing into the man he wants. He wants to be the man, the young good looking gentleman who is demand. Its not quite happening for him though and several things will be represented as working towards his unlucky and downbeat character.
Such as :
A mum still wanting his child
Some poor thoughts off his friends behind his back
Girls not really being interested in him
Struggling to keep up with the work load
All of this will lead to the trailer of 'Poor Old Chap' which implies certain maturity and a general sense of negativity and bad luck.
